The Data Manager Appliance integrates with the Oracle RMAN agent to check and monitor backup compliance against protection policies. The Oracle RMAN agent enables an application administrator to protect and recover the Oracle data on the application host. The Oracle RMAN agent installation is a command-line process whereby the user installs the required Oracle RMAN agent and the Data Manager Appliance software. The Data Manager Appliance then sets the DDVE appliance, storage unit, user, and password. Data Manager Appliance version 5.17.0.0 or later supports backup and recovery of the Oracle databases on the Windows platform. This is achieved by the Oracle RMAN agent support on the Windows platform. Supported configurations include standalone, RAC, RAC Active/Passive, Data Guard, and Data Guard RAC Active/Passive. Data Manager Appliance supports the Oracle backups and restores in an Oracle Exadata appliance through the Data Manager Appliance UI and integrated Oracle RMAN agent workflows.
